Camellias and azaleas in full bloom, reflected in one of the ponds – Isabella Plantation 03 May 09
Whatever the result of the UK boss class's 'Democratic Circus' on Thu 06 May 10, spring will still be bursting out all over in the blooming best springtime environment in London: the much beloved Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. Here's a glimpse at how drop-dead-gorgeous the place looks at this time of year, photographed during a picnic trip with my friend Jessica:
• Public Transport: take bus 85 from outside Putney station towards Kingston Hall Road, alighting at the Warren Road stop, junction of Ladderstile Ride and Kingston Hill, KT2 7LP, followed by a 1.2 km (0.77 mi) walk, c. 15-20 minutes
A. 10:54 Train from Vauxhall Rail Station to Putney Station
B. 11:05 Bus 85 from Putney Station to Warren Road stop
C. 11:36 Walk from Warren Road stop to Isabella Plantation Entrance
D. 12:00 Gather with the Picnicistas at Isabella Plantation Entrance
...so if you'd like to join this journey at A or B, please let me know where to expect to meet up with you.
Please RSVP by email to tim.dalinian.jones [at] gmail.com, so I can update/remind/reschedule all attendees with a single message to a single email-group from inside gmail.
I'm praying to Ceiling Cat and the Flying Spaghetti Monster [2] to put a good word in with the appropriate meteorological deities on our behalf, so fine weather should accompany our picnic; but Basement Cat may always get up to precipitatory mischief, so if the forecasts in the days before are for rain [3] we'd best reschedule, and I'll let you know by email.
Thanks in advance for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing from you soon, and to sharing the flora and fauna glories of the Isabella Plantation with you on Sun 09 May 10.
